ผมชื่อกาโม่ สะกดด้วยตัว K ไม่ใช่ตัว G เพราะพ่อบอกว่ากาโม่เป็นชื่อของแม่น้ำ Kamo ที่เกียวโต ประเทศญี่ปุ่น และเป็นชื่อยอดมนุษย์ญี่ปุ่นที่พ่อชอบด้วย ผมจึงเป็นยอดมนุษย์แห่งสายน้ำ    เหมือนชื่อนัทพลที่แปลว่า พลังแห่งสายน้ำ

ผมชอบวาดภาพแบบลายเส้นมาตั้งแต่ตอนเรียนอนุบาล ต่อมาหัดวาดภาพเหมือน และออกร้านรับวาดภาพสดเปลี่ยนคุณเป็นหุ่นยนต์ครั้งแรกตอนอายุ 9 ปี เคยได้รับรางวัลชนะเลิศระดับประเทศ ถ้วยพระราชทานจากสมเด็จพระกนิษฐาธิราชเจ้า กรมสมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ จากการประกวดภาพวาดรถยนต์ในฝัน และรางวัลที่ 2 จากการประกวดระดับโลก รวมถึงได้รางวัลพิเศษ Engineering Inspiration Award จากบริษัทโตโยต้า ประเทศญี่ปุ่น พอถึงชั้นมัธยมปลายก็ได้รางวัลระดับประเทศและระดับนานาชาติหลายเวที จากผลงานประเภทวิดีโอคลิป และภาพยนตร์อนิเมชั่นสั้น

ภาพวาดของผมส่วนใหญ่จะมีเอกลักษณ์ในสไตล์ Doodle วาดด้วยหมึกดำ นอกจากจะมีผลงานออกแบบสติ๊กเกอร์ไลน์ชุด Kamo and the Robots ให้ดาวน์โหลดแล้ว ยังร่วมงานวาดภาพให้สินค้าและบริษัทที่มีชื่อเสียงต่างๆ เช่น ภาพปกหนังสือของสำนักพิมพ์แพรวเยาวชน, ภาพตกแต่งศูนย์การเรียนรู้ในสวนน้ำวานานาวาหัวหิน, ภาพวาดในงานเปิดตัวโทรศัพท์ซัมซุง Note 9 และ Note 10, ภาพวาดสำหรับสินค้าที่ระลึกของปตท. บลูการ์ด และธนาคารไทยพาณิชย์, ภาพวาดบนมอเตอร์ไซค์ยามาฮ่า, ภาพวาดบนกำแพงในที่สาธารณะ และแสดงนิทรรศการผลงานศิลปะกลุ่ม “เส้นสายลายสี 4 ศิลปินเด็ก” ที่หอศิลป์จามจุรี รวมถึงแสดงนิทรรศการกลุ่มที่พิพิธภัณฑ์ศิลปะร่วมสมัย (MOCA)

บางครั้งผมก็เปิดเวิร์คชอปสอนเด็กๆ ให้รู้จักการวาดรูปแบบดูเดิ้ล สร้างแรงบันดาลใจด้วยแนวคิดว่าศิลปะไม่มีถูกไม่มีผิด ถ้าเราชอบและคิดว่าสวยสำหรับเราแล้ว แค่วาดไปเถอะอย่าหยุด

Kamo, Bangkok-based doodle artist is currently studying Communication Design at Chulalongkorn University. Supported by his family, he performed his first live portrait drawing at a street art market when he was 9. His talent brought him awards from Toyota Dream Car International Drawing Contest in 2016. Most of Kamo’s drawings are traditional hand drawing using black pens and markers. Sometimes he creates digital art illustration and moving images. His first animated short won several international awards and was an official selection in many film festivals.

Over the past few years, Kamo has a reputation for unique doodling and was commissioned to draw for many projects from book covers and merchandise design, VDO wall mapping, animation to mural paintings in public. His artworks were used by national and international brands e.g. Yamaha, Samsung Galaxy, Petroleum Authority of Thailand, Siam Commercial Bank and Thammasat Hospital. In 2019, “4 Kids Artists” was his first successful group art exhibition held in a downtown gallery. The latest group art exhibition was “Future Shape, 2022”, held at the Museum of Contemporary Art Bangkok (MOCA).  

Kamo sometimes conducts workshops to inspire young kids with the idea of no right or wrong in art. He believes that every piece of art has its own beauty. Just draw it and never stop.
